Dear Information Security Professional,

My name is Brent Meyer, and I am currently studying to obtain an MTech:IT at Cape Peninsula University of Technology. I am conducting a study to understand how South Africa information security professionals make investment decisions for information security purposes.

Participation in this study is strictly voluntary. This means that your decision to participate in this study will be respected. Your decision to participate will not be known to anyone. Each item included in the study must be answered completely. If you feel that at any point in time you cannot answer an item, you may stop and discontinue participation in the study.

There are no risks associated with participating in this study. The benefits of the study are that it may contribute to the increased knowledge of the researcher and information security community within the South African context.

There is no compensation associated with this study. You will not be paid to take part in this study. There is an incentive to complete the study, but this will require completion of the questionnaire and submission of your email address at the end for communication purposes.

The survey is confidential; the researcher will not use your information for any purposes outside of this research project. In addition, the researcher will not include any identifying information in any reports of the study.
